The website before the journal

The earlier Better Off Alone New York website presented clothing and accessories for travel. A surviving About page, captured by the Internet Archive in June 2021, describes the business as having been founded in 2020 by Eli Caner, Tanya Amini and Bonnie Poon. The archived text connects their backgrounds with the clothing and uniform industries.

AFAR's December 2020 coverage described the launch of a range of travel garments and accessories. The historical collection included jumpsuits, cover-ups, masks and travel kits.
